Have you ever wanted to learn how to dunk but thought it might be something you could never achieve?
It’s quite easy to think that dunking a basketball is something that only certain people can do, right? In your mind you probably think that it can only be done if you’re Basketball Tall. Maybe you think that you have to have the luck to be born with a certain body type, and you might even think that even the people born with the ideal body need to work at it from birth.
Whichever way you look at it right now, you’d be right to think you need to work at it, and not just any old way. It has to be something that you apply the correct method to. But you don’t have be some super tall human spring board to dunk a ball. In fact, almost anyone can do it.
And even if you are not a basketball player, you can learn how to apply yourself to learning to harness the explosive jump power that the dunk uses. There are so many sports that benefit from harnessing that vertical power.
That’s right; the first leap you need to make is a mental one! Before you can catch air you need to pick up the notion that you’re as likely to extend your jump, into dunk range, as any pro. This is Dunk Logic; the understanding that it’s the right kind of training that will move you into the high range and take you to the next level.
If you want to get that vertical power it can be done, but you’re going to have to change the way you think about training- no more overlooking certain muscles or getting the pace wrong. But you’ll have to believe that it can be done, or you’ll never overcome the preconceptions holding you back.
I couldn’t dunk as a kid, and I couldn’t dunk as an adult until I picked up on the right way of doing things. The first step was realizing it could be done. If you put away the barriers you can concentrate on what needs to be done to make it happen- the right training, the right skills. That’s Dunk Logic.
